Web / Practical perspective
Your website is your digital source of truth
For an international-facing SME, a website should turn real business capability into information a buyer can understand and use.
Retained marketing resource: a website is one part of the workflow from business information to enquiry and follow-up.
Start with the buyer's questions
Explain what the business makes or provides, the applications it supports and the process for starting a conversation. Use product details and evidence approved by the company. Do not fill gaps with imagined certifications, customer logos or capacity figures.
Translate the proposition, not just the sentences
An English-language website needs clear terminology and a coherent offer. Structure the pages for the intended audience. When adding Chinese or another language, use independent language paths and reviewed translations, with equivalent pages linked deliberately.
Connect information to an appropriate next step
A buyer should be able to move from a product or application page to a useful enquiry. Ask for the information needed for that conversation without forcing an extensive qualification process at first contact.
Separate design completion from operational readiness
A page looking finished does not confirm that the domain works, analytics are configured or the team receives enquiries. Test each part of the path and document what has been verified.
- Approved product and company information
- Clear navigation and readable mobile pages
- Search metadata and crawlable text
- A contact route with accurate status messages
- Documented access, ownership and maintenance
Build a foundation that can grow
A focused first release can establish the source of truth. Later work can add application pages, useful articles, evidence and market-specific language content. Each addition should serve a real question or business need.
